Seattle Academy

Seattle Academy Directors receiving cash donation from Project Pencil Case

PROUDLY ANNOUNCING that Seattle Academy is the first Project Pencil Case School to be twinned with a school abroad.  Seattle Academy will be twinned with The British Primary School in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, UK starting in September 2010!!

The Seattle Academy was established in September 2008 by two dedicated young brothers who are committed to making a difference in their own country.

Mengistu Wodaje  (Principal) and Worku Wodaje are graduates of Addis Ababa University with a vision to provide a global education to kids in need.  They selected the densely populated and largely illiterate community of  Kaliti in southern Addis in which to open a primary school from KG – 8th grade.   The financial needs of the school are great and range from rental costs of the school buildings to all the necessary scholastic tools required  to provide a good education.  Unfortunately,  the small admission fee currently charged to the students does not sufficiently meet the financial needs of the school.

Project Pencil Case is endeavouring to find schools in the UK or USA who would be interested in twinning or linking with Seattle Academy and helping to fundraise on their behalf.

If you are interested in helping please get in touch with Project Pencil Case!
